Dry and Dehydrated Skin Care
Dry skin is a result of lack of oil and it also tends to be dehydrated. Its lack of oil diminishes its ability to retain
moisture since oil in the skin acts as a natural barrier against moisture loss. Dry skin is characterized as very fine
overly delicate and thin. In dry skin pores are almost invisible. The skin also tends to wrinkle easily and is often
filled with tiny superficial lines.
While dehydration is one of the most common skin conditions, it is a result of lack of water and hydartion.
Dehydrated skin looks dry, scaly and flaky. It feels tight. Dehydration is aggravated by atmospheric conditions
including too much sun and wind; not using sunscreen and/ or daytime protective moisturizers; using inappropriate
skin care products; cleansing with harsh soaps and water; drinking tea, coffee, soda or diuretics; and not drinking
enough water.
